About
Three businesses, one weathered deck on the bay.
The Birds Cafe began as a roadside stop for travelers along Highway 1 — a place to pull over, breathe the salt air, and eat something pulled from the Pacific.

Our Story
Bodega Bay is famously the setting of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, and we take our name from that quiet bit of cinematic history — without leaning too hard on it. The cafe began with a love for the bay itself: the tide-flats, the fog that lifts each morning, the boats coming in with the day's catch.
We serve fast and casual at the counter so you can spend your time where it matters — on the patio, looking out. Our oysters come from down the road. Our chowder is made in-house every morning. Our espresso is pulled to order. And the gift shop next door is full of things we'd actually want in our own homes.
What we believe
That a place to eat on the coast should taste like the coast. That counter service can still be hospitality. That ultimately we believe that every visit should leave you with more than just a great meal, but an exceptional experience from the moment you step onto our property.
Who we serve
Highway 1 travelers, National/International travelers, weekenders from the Bay Area, hikers off the Sonoma Coast Trail, regulars from town — and anyone with an afternoon and a love for the Pacific.
